Well…
I went to pick up FHB and he brought Einstein to the car. Einstein wanted me to give permission for FHB to go to the Grade 5 recreation program from 2 to 4 pm at the Leisure Center. Apparently this is a planned program with the teachers attending and it sounded to me like they are SUPPOSED to go.
Anyway…I had to bring them home to get the swimming gear and then, we got part-way there when FHB announced that he had forgotten his pass card. Tried to turn around and got into a terrible snow piled back road but thankfully didn’t get stuck.
I dropped these two off with warnings “Don’t drown because I will be embarrassed and limited to only one day to problem-solve” and “No matter what, DON’T leave the arena. I will pick you up”. FHB was delighted and said that Red Seal would never have allowed this. Einstein suggested that I could just adopt another child if FHB drowned. They both agreed that the best was just not to tell. (I said that someone might meet Red Seal downtown and unknowingly mention it). I gave him $7 as Einstein had $10 and wanted French Fries.
Because of the above, I was significantly late getting Prince. We headed to the Bell to buy the IPOD and had quite a wait only to find out that they didn’t have the item I wanted in stock. Prince tried to encourage me to drive to Calgary. NOT!
Next to the Leisure Center. Prince was obviously worried when he couldn’t spot the boys in the pool but I had already checked at the desk and knew they were there. I ordered a cheeseburger but Prince wasn’t at all interested. In fact, he told me how he hated the food there – until I got mine. Then he wanted one so I gave him money for the order.
Suddenly, the boys came around the cornor and FHB was WIRED. He was chatting up all the girls and Prince just shook his head and rolled his eyes.
Prince noticed some guys at another table and went over to visit with them. I headed to the curling rink side but that entrance was closed. On my way back, I stopped at the table and started talking with the boys. Prince was the deepest shade of crimson even though he didn’t even hear the conversation. I asked if he was embarrassed and one boy said “My mom is always saying Colton are you embarrassed?”
We stopped the flirting (FHB) and headed out. I explained that I was discussing the Grey Cup Defensive Coach and Cayman’s winning of the Hawaii State championship. Geeeezzzz! Prince said “I can hardly wait until my mom is back”. (I don’t know if he just wants to get rid of me or if he figures she will stay out of his life).
Well…we are home. I had to get annoying with FHB who hasn’t seen his dog all day. I booted him out (lasted about 10 minutes). Now he is cleaning his room. He has a pattern of problems with telling the truth. Like “I just shovelled the sidewalk”. “I fed Daisy”. “I did my homework”.
Prince overpromises and under delivers. “Yes, Grandma” merely means “I am still alive and breathing”.
Prince was to shovel the sidewalk but retreated to the Bat Cave. Didn’t do it. (I guess no ride to work tomorrow).
The chicken is stuffed and in the oven.
I have refused to allow TV because it is all cartoons and silly shows with no substance.
We will check out the movie tonight.
Just one more day in Pardise.
