The spelling words are posted in the bathroom for FHB and althought Prince and I completed the outline for his essay, I found it on the island this morning. Thought of delivering it to the school but that would likely open up an expectation.
Miraculously, FHB remembered where Red Seal keeps the needles and thread – 20 minutes before we were to leave. I managed to get all the mending done including a gap the side of the Grand Canyon in the snow pants that he wanted to wear to school this morning. Kids are funny. These are the same pants that his ex made fun of yesterday. Was it the pants, the hole or just the scorn of a past lover?
This morning it is 33 degrees and no one wanted to get up. They continually assured me that they were up but, when 8 a.m. arrived I announced that I was going to the car and boy did they scramble. Have announced a new policy. In the morning I will stand in each bedroom and not leave until the said darling is IN the shower. Prince ate his toast and jam in the car as I gave both a lecture on maturity. (I explained that this was difficult for someone of Norwegian decent who is a lover and not a fighter).
Also, I will be offering rides only to those who have cleaned their rooms before the transporation is needed. (Let the motivation build).
Had FHB help make his lunch so that it isn’t returned at the end of the day.
This morning I dropped everyone off, had a lovely hot bath, put in a load of my laundry and pulled out some thighs for Chicken Hurray tonight. Prince has taken on an extra shift today (5 to 10 pm) I will drive him there (if his room is clean) but he will vault snowbanks home because FHB will be in bed.
Well, it is 9:17 am in Alberta. I’m clean and have said my peace. Everything is in order but I am TIRED. Think I should check out the Obama speech on JOBS this morning. Also need to ensure that the two Mrs. Woods are well. The younger has purchased a home on a secluded island near Sweden (long trips for child visitation, Tiger) and the elder was mysteriously taken by ambulance at 2:30 a.m. from Tiger’s house today. These people are just not good after midnight!
Off to the television…
Ooops….slept for THREE HOURS!!!!
When I picked up the rugrats, FHB had eaten ALL his lunch. Prince needed to make a Pitstop at Staples AGAIN.
FHB went to his favourite snow hill and was having a great time. We called him and when he didn’t come I just drove away. He is a FAST runner – caught up to us about a block away.
Supper went over really well. I offered to drive Prince to work IF the laundry was in the washer.
Had a little trouble in that it was 4:50 pm. I was in the car and NO PRINCE. He finally came out WITHOUT a HAT. I sent him back in and he couldn’t find it. Apparently he wore Adam’s to school and forgot it there.
He claims he wasn’t angry with me but ANNOYED. We made it to the store at exactly 5 pm.
Then FHB, who was in his pyjamas, headed to Work Warehouse where I got LOTS of hats and scarves.
Next was the library. The staff was excellent and although he insisted that he had a library card in the past, they could not find a record of it. He was definitely a fish out of water and didn’t really know what to ask for or where to look.
I helped him and so did two staff members – but he needs Red Seal to go with him to get him engaged. I suggested that he set up a time to meet Ben there as he is an old pro. (Remember to take an item for the foodbank and a toothbrush to decorate the dental tree!
Also, I had to sign as the primary – Red Seal can have that changed when she takes him. She will get an email two days before his books are due. He can order online from libraries anywhere in Alberta. There are many programs in which he can participate. This is important!
Maybe getting into biographies of athletes would be a good idea.
Then we stopped at No Frills to drop off a hat, scarf and mitts. FHB delivered them. (Both boys are becoming very adept at doing errands while I wait in the car. Independence!
Now we are at home. Daisy is delighted to think that she isn’t abandoned but it is kind of like an addiction. The more attention she has the more she wants.
FHB is on the computer tonight and I am checking his homework book. Nothing until Friday spelling test and he is studying every time he hits the bathroom!
Prince will walk home and I will have food as his bribe for our visit. Made a beautiful batch of pumpkin muffins and FHB LOVED them!
FHB wants egg salad sandwiches tomorrow and we actually have all the ingredients!
YEAHHHHHHHH!
Starting another day in Paradise…

Well I have come to the conclusion that Grandma is better than us at this blog stuff!! It takes me at least a 1/2and hour to figure out how to send a message.
Its 9:21 pm your time and i assume that Andrew is in bed. I met a couple at “Big Beach” today from Vancouver and told them about the blog. They could not believe that we could communicate this way as they have trouble with e-mail, however, thought it was cool.
We decided to have an adventure yesterday again even though the day befores adenture included naked men!!! We heard that the “Road to Hana” was a great experience. NOT!!! It was like 3 hours of Go Cart Racing with way to many turns. I thought I was going to throw up 1/2 way to hana and the worst part was that you had to return the same way you came. I was’t really worried about Adams driving , but the other drivers. And not to mention the 97 single bridges that you had to go over times 2.
We decided to stop at a few sights along the winding road. We came to a water fall that looked great from a distance. Adam, however, decided to go on an “Adventure” and wanted me to follow over the mud rocks and juggle terrane to get a picture of him.. I was okay until the return trip to the road. I slipped on a rock that had too much mud and now have a bruise similar to Grandmas when she broke her hand!!! Adam asked for ice at the 1/2 point to Hana and the ocean salt helped the scratches. Today I a better…don’t think its broken, but have told Adam that the holiday is not all about him and that I would like to slow down.
On our way back from Road to Hana we had to take look at the waves. supposed to be 60′. Police closed the parks and would’nt let the most experienced surfers in…
Today was big beach and what a blast!!! the beach sand was orange and the waves were strong…i had sand in every crack on my body!~!!!!!! Ughhh!
Met a couple from seattle, but originally vancouver… So nice they even store our water bottle in there cooler.. She took pics of us in the wavesss…
Any way I will let you in on the news tommorow as we are headed now to dinner at a smoke house!! maybe Adam will finnally learn how to make ribs.
Miss you all …wish you were here!
