Today is warmer (-13 degrees) with light snow. Apparently there are cars in the ditch everywhere in Calgary.
This is the first time that I have seen FHB grumpy. Don’t know if he didn’t get enough sleep (in bed at 9pm) or if it was because I sewed his pants wrong or if it was because I put his sweater in the washing.
On the other hand, Prince was in the BEST mood that I have seen. He not only put in a load of laundry and started the dishwasher before leaving but also came to the car with the new scarf and hat that I bought him. Last night he was implying that he wasn’t into scarves but thankfully Iron Chef America had ice night and one of the judges had a scarf!!!!!
The routine is this:
1. 6:45 am wake up to Adam’s pre-set alarm
2. Shut it off
3. 7:00 am wake up to Adam’s pre-set alarm
3. Listen to the news and get up
4. Go to the Bat Cave and give an annoyingly happy greeting (this mornning I didn’t even open my mouth and Prince said “I know. I know.”
5. Inform Prince that you will sit in the white chair until he is in the shower.
6. Sit there until you physically see him and hear the water running.
7. Go upstairs to call FHB
8. Sit on the bed and give an annoyingly happy greeting
9. Tell FHB that you are going to brush your teeth so that he can then have his shower
10. Brush your teeth
11. Inform FHB that he can now use the shower
12. Assemble some kind of nutritious breakfast
13. Wash dog dishes, refill and place outside (without letting dog enter)
14. Make conversation during eating
15. Put on coat and announce that you are leaving
16. Put keys in the front door for the last person to lock and bring to car
17. Go outside and wait in car (don’t forget to place the snow brush on the front of the car for Prince to use to clean your windows).
The children will actually help each other to get to the car knowing that their transportation needs will not be met unless they are in the car by 8 a.m.
On the way to school, start up conversation that involves humour, politics, scenes on the way or other ridiculous stuff. The goal is to have them laugh as early in the day as possible so they get started right.
When I arrive home, I check the basement for growing or disgusting things. I might straighten a bed, put the clothes that Prince has washed in the dryer and ALWAYS choose the meat for supper.
WOW! 9:10 am – My time is MINE! (To make food, do psychology practice, return calls etc.)
Today I am still not feeling well. I choose hamburger to thaw and can do a number of things with it.
Think I should lie down for a spell.
Just another day in Paradise.
